Fund Raising Achieved by Year 2015-2022

The JoyRon Foundation has been operational since second quarter 2015. However, as can be seen below in the yearly summaries the Foundation has raised some euro 400,000 to support the Children in Need in the Baleares.

2022 has become since the inauguration of the JoyRon Foundation in mid-year 2015, our best year so far for Fund Raising. Our Fund Raising efforts focused primarily on our third JoyRon Gala Dinner held at Finca Son Mir for some 250 persons with catering provided by Michelin Star Chef Marc Fosh, raising from Ticket Sale donations, Auction, Raffle etc some euro 42,000 net. In addition our 2022 Diversity of Mallorca Calendar Sale donations raised some euro 10,000. Further, in June 2022, we held a Social Dinner and raised some euro 5,500 in aid of supporting some 73 Ukrainian Children in Mallorca who had been displaced by the war in Ukraine. In October 2022 we held a Go-Kart Race Day that raised euro 15,000 shortly followed thereafter a Charity Dinner and Pre-Halloween Night that raised euro 7,500. Our Corporate and Private Individuals Donation program provided us with some euro 33,000. In addition various smaller activities during the year raised a further euro 4,000. Making a full year income (11 months to end of November 2022) in support of the Children in Need in the Baleares of euro 117,000 in total.

Due to the Covid 19 Lockdown, carrying through to the first six months of 2021 the Fund Raising Activities within JoyRon Foundation were extremely limited for the year. However, internal planning within the foundation has been active.

  • With the designing of this new website.
  • The creation of an on-line shop.
  • The establishment of a new operational centre in Palma.
  • A campaign to recruit new volunteers to replace those lost during 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid 19 resulting in many of our volunteers leaving the island.
  • Initial identification and planning for a number of Fund Raising Events.
  • Plus the development of a new on-line fund raising program to be marketed through LinkedIn.
  • However, with the easing of Covid restrictions and a level of normality returning to life in general, it was decided to design and publish a fourth JoyRon Foundation 2022 Diversity of Mallorca Calendar, in order to generate some fund raising revenue for late 2021/early 2022 in order to provide Christmas/Three Kings gifts for the Children in the Children Homes in Mallorca.

As we are all aware for all of us 2020 was a “complete lost year” due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Making it Impossible to organise and hold fund raising events open to the general public. In fact, other than holding the final of our first “Inter-Schools Talent Contest in February 2020, just before the Covid 19 lockdown, our only source of income was from donations received from corporations and individuals. Our total income for the year amounted to just euro 26,700, some euro 5,000 from the Inter-Schools Talent Contest (staged under our Fund Raising Umbrella of Children Helping Children in Need), plus some euro 21,700 from various financial donations received. We thank the schools, parents, children and donators, who have supported us.

2019 has since the inauguration of the JoyRon Foundation in mid-year 2015, been our best year so far for Fund Raising. Our Fund Raising efforts focused primarily on our second JoyRon Gala Dinner held at Finca Son Mir for some 250 persons with catering provided by Michelin Star Chef Marc Fosh, raising from Ticket Sale donations, Auction, Raffle etc some euro 44,000 net. In addition our 2020 Diversity of Mallorca Calendar Sale donations raised some euro 9,000, whilst our Summer Red Carpet event raised in the region of euro 6,000 thank you to the collaboration of Real Estate United. Making a full year income to support the Children in Need in the Baleares of euro 102,700 in total.

Fund Raising for 2018 was made up as follows, We held our very first JoyRon Gala Dinner at Finca Son Mir with a full house of some 260 persons attending, catering was supported by three master chefs each serving one of the three courses (Marc Fosh providing the first course, Fernando Arellano providing the main course, whilst Marc Fosh provided the alternative vegetarian main course and Adrian Quetglas provided the dessert). Making a full year income to support the Children in Need in the Baleares of euro 83,500 in total.

By the beginning of 2017, having been operational for some eighteen months the JoyRon Foundation was now becoming more established and its objectives far more recognised by the community. Hence, the foundation became a little less focused on marketing its objectives and more focused on establishing a fund raising program. Hence we held an Easter Eggstrvaganza Children’s Egg Hunting event with games and other attractions at The Boathouse which raised just over euro 1,200 and at Christmastime, a Christmas Carols by Candlelight event with entertainments and stalls also at the Boathouse raised a further euro 2,500. In addition, some volunteers supported the foundation and participated in the Palma to Luc Night Walk. The Volunteer Walkers raised some euro 2,000 plus. A new JoyRon initiative was created in the designing and production of a JoyRon Foundation Calendar depicting various scenes of Beautiful Mallorca showing the Diversity of Mallorca. In the first year of the Calendar for the year of 2018 the sponsors for each page plus calendar sales donations less the production costs raised some euro 12,000 for the Foundation. Our Corporate and Private Individuals Donations for the year raised some euro 32,000. Making a full year income to support the Children in Need in the Baleares of euro 49,700 in total.

As at the beginning of 2016, the JoyRon Foundation had been operational for some nine months and had become established as a new charitable foundation seeking to support Children in Need. Two local companies staged their own client marketing events, the first being a Golf Tournament and the second a social evening and together the two events raised two donations to the foundation totalling some euro 6,000. Some 11 volunteers supported the foundation and participated in a charity walk from Binissalem to Lluc, whilst our President supported by volunteer Chiara Clark walked together in the 2016 Palma to Luc walk. The two sponsored walks in total made over euro 4,100 in sponsored walk donations from the general public. In addition, during the year some euro 22,000 was raised from Corporate and Private Individuals donations. The 2016 year was rounded off with a Christmas Carols by Candlelight event at The Boathouse with entertainment and Christmas Stalls raising a net amount after expenses of some euro 2,200. Making a full year income to support the Children in Need in the Baleares of euro 34,300 in total.

The JoyRon Foundation having been inaugurated in April 2015 by its initial three officers Ronald Hawes, Josephine Rourke and Rafael Belloch, with Statutes and By Laws registered at the Registry of Foundations in Palma and a Tax Accountant appointed and initial working capital raised. The foundation was legally operational and registered. Hence the promotion and marketing of the foundation commenced. Our very first main fund raiser, was when some 25 plus volunteers supported and walked with our President in the 2015 Palma to Luc walk and between them they raised over euro 5,500 in sponsored walk donations from the general public. In addition the foundation received for 2015 euro 13,200 in Corporate and Private Individuals donations. Other smaller fund raising activities raised some euro 1,300. The 2015 year was rounded off with a Christmas Carols by Candlelight event at The Boathouse with entertainment and Christmas Stalls raising a net amount after expenses of some euro 2,400. Making a full year income to support the Children in Need in the Baleares of euro 22,400 in total.
